Romper: Buffalo Exchange
Sweater: F21
Belt, Tights: Target
Shoes: Faith
(sorry for the yellow-ish pics, trying a different camera!)
It's getting cold again! We had some great weather, and it's pretty much back to feeling like February again...bummer! I guess it was all for the best, though, since I wanted to wear this romper with these tights, and if it was typical Florida weather, I don't know how comfy that'd be. :/
As for the Mocloth dress on sale: didn't get it. Instead, I went for a dress I'd been wanting ever since I saw it on the "Be the Buyer" page. It looked even better than I thought (removable straps!), and was even less expensive than the sale dress, so I got it. Super-happy. :)
Has nothing to do with any of the projects I'm supposed to be working on...I guess I just missed watercolor and wanted to try it out again. (The background was me layering paper/origami paper textures)
Besides the book my sister and I are doing, my illustration class is actually doing book covers as the next project! Here are the ones I'm thinking about doing:
-The Great Gatsby
-Wuthering Heights
-The Scarlet Letter
I want to go with a classic because I think it'd be fun to give something iconic a twist in my kind of style...my favorite books aren't very well-known (mainly Gaiman and Pratchett), and I want my classmates to have an immediate connection. Or am I over-thinking this a bit....? XD
cute outfit and i love your haircut. I wish I could go that short. Thats a brilliant illustration you did. As for your book cover I would love to see one for Wuthering Heights,I just love that book
ReplyDeleteIt's rainy here, but not too chilly. Romper with tights weather for sure though. Love the print.
ReplyDeletei love the belt over the cardi look... i never really do it, though! And your illustration is gorgeousss.. the hands are the last thing i saw.. but it made it so interesting to look at after that. love the color pallet you used as well! :)
ReplyDeletelove, polly

ReplyDeleteAND that sketch is so cool, I love the background.
Those sound like great choices! I once designed covers for the Harry Potter books, but I did simple vector art since I can't draw ;) They're here if you scroll down: http://www.meganbarrow.com/

ReplyDeletethis outfit is adorable!! I love the mix of prints. Also, your haircut suits you really well.
ReplyDeletei *love* that illustration - purple can be such a powerfully rich, thick, wonderful colour.
ReplyDeletemy vote's for the scarlet letter, especially if you gaiman it up. he's my best friend's favourite author, and i'm trying to learn more about him & his stuff - he's pretty interesting.
I love the look, with the flowers and the belt it's very english rose-esque.
ReplyDeleteI can see why you're going for iconic books, as much as I adore Pratchett/Gaiman I think you'd be far less breaking new ground.
xx
